Elyas M’Barek

Elyas M’Barek (29. Mai 1982 in Munich) is a German actor of both Austrian and Tunisian ancestry.He has worked widely in German television and film.He began acting in 2001 in Dennis Gansel’s sex comedy Mädchen, Mädchen. The pinnacle of success in Europe gets the lead role with the sitcom Türkisch für Anfänger where he plays the role of Cem Öztürk, a young guy of Turkish origin. Also on the side of Arnel Taci (which in Türkisch für Anfänger was his best friend), also will star in the TV series Abschnitt 40. In 2008, he also appeared in Gansel’s acclaimed film thriller-drama Die Welle, in the role of Sinan, a student that embraces fascism. In 2012 he reunites with Mädchen, Mädchen and Die Welle co-star Max Riemelt in the drama film Heiter bis Wolkig opposite Jessica Schwarz and Anna Fischer and will play a lead in the Türkisch für Anfänger feature film. He is set to play a vampire in The Mortal Instruments.
