The story began in 2008 when Adam Sevani (Moose from “Step Up 2: The Streets”) and Jon Chu (the movie’s director) challenged Miley Cyrus and her best friend/pro dancer Mandy Jiroux to “the biggest online dance battle in YouTube history.” They battled against each other in mega popular dance battles that finished out on the 2008 Teen Choice Awards declaring Miley's crew the winner. Many believe that it was a false win considering Miley hosted that years awards ceremony.
