Shutter Shades are a design of fashion sunglasses. Instead of having a lens, the design is characterized by its "shutter" motif, which is part of the frame, and are marketed as suitable for both men and women. The design is purportedly inspired by the fashion of the 1980s, though the design was directly inspired by an Alain Mikli custom design for Kanye West. West popularized the glasses in the music video for Stronger. The glasses are available in white, black, red, blue, green and pink, with yellow, orange, purple and sky blue available for Spring 2008. Gold, silver, clear, and glow-in-the-dark designs have been released.
