The 2008 NBA Finals will be the championship series of the 2007-08 National Basketball Association season, and will be the conclusion of this year's postseason. It will pit the Los Angeles Lakers, the winner of the Western Conference Finals, against the winner of the Eastern Conference Finals, either the Boston Celtics or the Detroit Pistons. The winner of the Eastern Conference Finals will have home court advantage due to both Boston (66-16) and Detroit (59-23) having better records than Los Angeles (57-25). The Celtics have beaten the Lakers in both regular season contests, while the Lakers tied the regular season series with the Pistons, losing in Detroit.
