Sometimes seeing stars isn't enough—Mr. Chow's has been enabling diners to literally bump elbows with them since 1973. In addition to being an artist, designer, collector, and the subject of paintings by Andy Warhol, Helmut Newton, and Keith Haring, owner Michael Chow also holds the distinction of inventing what may be the world's the most expensive Chinese food. Oh well, it's a small price to pay to eat in the restaurant where Barbra Streisand first met James Brolin.
