Birch Evans Bayh III (commonly known as Evan Bayh)(born December 26, 1955) is an American politician who has served as the junior U.S. Senator from Indiana since 1999 and a former Governor of Indiana. He is a member of the Democratic Party and, until December 15, 2006, was considered a likely Democratic candidate for the 2008 presidential election when he briefly filed with the FEC.
