Niall James Horan, aged 18 (born 13 September 1993) is an Irish musician, who is currently one-fifth of the ever-popular British boyband, One Direction.
Horan was born in Mullingar, Westmeath, Ireland, but was unable to return there due to severe weather, as a result, he couldn't travel to Ireland with his band members for their final week on British television show, The X Factor. He is the member of the band who is best-known for his bleach-blonde hair and his Irish accent. He was a student at Coláiste Mhuire in Mullingar.
It is well-known that Niall and his fellow band members had all applied as solo contestants, but failed to qualify for the Boys category and consequently, were not through to Judges' houses. The judges (Cowell, Walsh and Scherzinger), after a suggestion by Cowell, put them in a band, qualifying them for the Groups category. See Less
