What Goes Up is an independent comedy/drama film slated for release in 2009. Starring Steve Coogan, Hilary Duff and Molly Shannon, it is co-written by Jonathan Glatzer and Robert Lawson and directed by Glatzer. Coogan also serves as the executive producer.

What Goes Up is a film about a morally challenged New York reporter (Steve Coogan) who learns life lessons from a group of dysfunctional students (Hilary Duff, Josh Peck, Olivia Thirlby) while covering the hometown hoopla surrounding the first teacher in space. Set in the 1980s, this poignant fishbowl glimpse at life takes a look at how heroes are made in a world devoid of heroes.
