A dutch braid is made like the french braid, but instead of picking up hair and crossing over the middle section, you pull the hair under the middle section. This results in a braid that is raised up from the head instead of flush with the head.
This braid is also called an inside-out french braid because that is exactly what it looks like. It is a french braid that actually sits on top of the hair. Make sure you have an elastic ponytail holder to secure the end of the braid and that the hair is brushed out and free of tangles before you start. See Less
