It was released in American Macy's stores and a range of different stores in the United Kingdom on August 22, 2012 and worldwide in September through the singer's Haus Laboratories label in association with Coty, Inc. The perfume, described as eccentric from its earliest reports, is based on the molecular structures of blood and semen, which led to rumors that it would smell of the substances.
