The Chevrolet Chevy II produced from 1962 through 1968, and the Chevrolet Nova from 1969 to 1979 are automobiles that were produced in the United States by the Chevrolet division of General Motors. The Nova was the top model in the Chevy II compact model lineup. The Chevy II nameplate was dropped for the 1969 model year, the Nova continuing until early in the 1979 model year, replaced by the 1980 Chevrolet Citation introduced in the spring of 1979. The Nova nameplate returned for the 1986-1988 NUMMI manufactured, subcompact Chevrolet Nova based on the front wheel drive Japanese Toyota Sprinter. See Less
