Catherine "Cat" Cora - born April 3rd, 1967 in Jackson, Mississippi, as Katerina Karagiozis to a family of Greek restauranteurs - is a Greek-American professional chef. While she made television and culinary history as the first and only female Iron Chef, Cat has long been a popular television personality, appearing on NBC, Food Network and PBS, among others.
As Executive Chef of Bon Appétit Magazine, Cat Cora brings commitment, passion and an irrepressible sense of fun to her role. She has published two books, Cat Cora's Kitchen, and Cooking From The Hip: Fast, Easy, Phenomenal Meals.
Also known for her philanthropy, Cat is founder of Chefs for Humanity, a national coalition of culinary professionals working to fight hunger by providing food nutrition, education, emergency food relief and humanitarian aid worldwide.
