Ever since Poppy's mother died in a car accident when Poppy was eleven Poppy has "had a hole in her heart". Poppy is a fashionista teenager from Malibu who pushes her dad too far when she jumps of a cliff, she is sent to boarding school for a semester and there meets pushy head girl Harriet, and the head masters son Freddie who she picks as her ticket out of the school to get expelled as the head master says no to fraternising.
