Gabriella Montez is East High`s leading lady. Being the girlfriend of the captain of the basketball team can be tricky, with all the other girls wanting him and his team members pressuring him, but in the end it is worth it. She is also a member of the winning scholastic decathlon along with one of her best friends, Taylor. She is also known for her amazing talent- singing. She was even part of the winter musical called "Twinkle Towne". During the summer she is a lifeguard at the "Lava Springs" country club. She often questions her love for Troy because of the school`s over achiever, Sharpay. The future scares Gabriella, she doesn`t want to leave Troy. She is accepted to Stanford, and has an oportunity to go early, but she doesn`t want to leave East High. It is over 1,000 miles away from where Troy wants to go.
