Oliver Peoples is a retailer and maker of eyewear begun by Larry and Dennis Leight in Los Angeles in 1987. Many early designs were retro-inspired. The brand gained mainstream popularity by the end of the 1980s, largely thanks to an article in the July 10, 1989 issue of Time magazine. In February 2006, Oliver Peoples was acquired by Oakley, itself acquired by Luxottica in 2007. See Less
