Vanessa Hope (aka Vanessa Wanger) started her film career in China while teaching a graduate course on "Law and Society" at People's University in Beijing sponsored by the Ford Foundation. Fully fluent in Mandarin, her first producing role was working with China's acclaimed director Wang Quan'an on The Story Of Ermei, which debuted at the Berlin Film Festival in 2004. During her years living in China she also earned her Masters and completed PhD coursework in Cultural Anthropology with a focus on film and China from Columbia University. See Less
